The studio always been an ongoing construction since Etienne Forget choose to spend his life time with music. After reaching technical maturity in the mid 2010's, the studio's been reinforced years after years with an handpicked list of high end gear and rare instruments. In 2025, it was time to give it a legal form but why ?

In modern music and in many ways in ancient ones too, there's a profound connection between the music itself and the technics that are used to help the emotional expression reach its full potential. Very much like staging in a theater piece or light, frame work and sound recording technics in a movie. At Ko Ko Ro, we strongly believe in those parallels. This is the original motive of the studio. Have the best possible means at disposition, understand and master the tools to make signature musics.

To go further in that direction, there was a need to be able to gain access to larger services, be able to drag more opportunities and expand partnership with other structures. Creating this new company was the way to go.

By the way, why Ko Ko RO ? It seems like a basic Gajïn appropriation of a japanese word but we truly admire the fact that such a philosophic concept, so familiar to music, lives into one single word. Under certain circumstances, Kokoro means, heart or body, spirit and soul all in one word. This is something that talk to every musicians as it is in this balance that instrumental interpretation practice reside. We believe it is also an alignment that each human being needs to find peace and purpose. In our studio, it could also be seen as the three elements we are dedicated to : music composing, the technics that we develop and the interpretation of the music. The soul, the mind and the body.
